Speak your notes into a form

Dictate a form's notes on the mobile app instead of typing them, then check and save what was written.

Mobile app

On the mobile app, questions that take longer notes have a microphone. Tap it and talk: your words are written into the box as you speak, and you can read and correct them before you save.

  1. Step 1

    Tap the microphone

With a form open, tap the microphone under a notes question. The box opens for editing and recording starts.

  2. Step 2

    Speak

While it's recording, green bars move with your voice and a timer shows how long you've been talking. A recording can run for up to five minutes; you'll get a warning a minute before the end.

  3. Step 3

    Watch the words appear

Your words are written into the box as you talk. Speak naturally; anything already in the box is kept.

  4. Step 4

    Stop recording

Tap the red stop button when you've finished.

  5. Step 5

    Check and correct

Read it back and fix anything it misheard, using the keyboard as usual. You can tap the microphone again to add more.

  6. Step 6

    Save

Tap the green tick to keep your notes. The red cross discards what you changed.

  7. Step 7

    In the assistant

The assistant has a microphone too: tap it to speak your question instead of typing it, then check the words before you send.

  8. Step 8

    No recording?

Voice-to-text has to be turned on for your account. If tapping the microphone only opens the box for typing, ask your manager. The first time, your phone will also ask for permission to use the microphone.
