The Facility page template decides which extra fields every facility's page carries — an alarm company's number, a key safe location, a council consent reference. It works the same way as the client template.
You are changing a shared definition. A field added to the template appears on every facility, each with its own value.
Sections group your fields on the facility's Information tab. A field has a name (the label people see) and a type, which decides what can be entered: short or long text, number, date, time, checkbox, radio buttons, dropdown, email, phone, address or currency.
Changing the template needs page-template management permission; filling a field in on a facility needs edit access to that facility.
Step 1
Open Page Templates
In the side menu, open Admin Settings, then click Page Templates. The page opens on the Client template.
Step 2
Choose Facility
Click Facility in the list on the left. If your organisation has no facility template yet, click Create Facility Template to start one. Facilities have one template each; the core sections, Facility Information and Address, can be extended with fields too.
Step 3
Add a section
Click Add Section and name it for what it holds. Sections are how your fields are grouped on the facility's page.
Step 4
Add a field
Click Add Field inside the section. A new field starts as short text and shows on every facility.
Step 5
Name the field
The Field Name is the label people see on the facility's page.
Step 6
Choose its type
Field Type decides what can be entered. The same card has Required, Show on All, Read Only and Secure (for sensitive information), plus a placeholder and helper text.
Step 7
Save the template
Click Create Template on a new template, or Save Changes on an existing one. Every facility's page picks the change up straight away.
Step 9
Find your section
The facility opens on its Information tab. Scroll down: your section sits below Facility Information, Address and Access Permissions, with your field in it and no value yet. Edit Template beside its title takes you back to the template.
Step 10
Fill it in
Click the section's pencil, type the value for this facility, then click Save Changes. The value is stored on this facility, not on the template.
Step 11
Who can see the field
A new field is restricted: only people with facility-level permissions can see it, and its shield shows orange. To let others see it, open the field in the template and give it rostered-staff access or choose the roles that can see it.
Step 12
Required and optional fields
Marking a field Required does not fill it in on existing facilities. Clearing Show on All makes it optional: it only appears on a facility once someone adds it from that section's edit form.
