Record an asset's expiry date

Update the expiry of a vehicle's WOF, registration or insurance so its status stays accurate.

Sound is off

Each asset has compliance items — for a vehicle, things like its WOF, Registration and Insurance — and each item holds an expiry date. Read + Respond works out the item's status from that date, so when something is renewed, you record the new expiry and the status follows.

  1. Step 1

    Open the asset

In the side menu, click Assets, then click the asset. Its panel opens; scroll down to the compliance items, below Documents.

  2. Step 2

    Check each item's status

Each item shows Valid, Expiring Soon (it lapses within 30 days), Expired (with the date it lapsed) or Missing. Valid and Expiring Soon items also show how many days are left.

  3. Step 3

    Edit the item

Click the edit button beside the item you've renewed. The Edit Entry panel opens.

  4. Step 4

    Enter the new expiry

Click Expiry Date and enter the new date, or pick it from the calendar. You can also record an Entry Date and a note.

  5. Step 5

    Save

Click Save. Clear Entry removes what's recorded for the item instead.

  6. Step 6

    Check the result

The item now shows Valid, with the number of days until the new expiry.

  7. Step 7

    The overview

Compliance Overview counts how many of the asset's items are complete, and how many are valid, expiring, expired or missing.

  8. Step 8

    Items with nothing recorded

An item with nothing recorded yet is hidden, and counted as missing. Click the eye button beside the counts to show it, then click the + beside the item to add its first entry.

  9. Step 9

    Keeping the certificate

To keep a copy of the certificate with the asset, click Attach under Documents on the same panel. Documents travel with the asset when it moves.
