Roles are how you control access in the platform — they decide what each team member can see and do. Before you invite anyone, you'll want at least one role set up.
The Roles page under Settings lists every role for your organisation. From there you can create a new role, give it a descriptive name, choose how broadly it applies, and tick exactly which permissions it grants — then save it ready to assign to your team.
Step 1
Open the Roles page
Go to Settings → Roles. Every role for your organisation is listed here. Click Create Role to start a new one.
Step 2
Name the role
Give it a clear, recognisable name like Support Worker or Team Lead — this is what you'll pick when assigning the role to people.
Step 3
Choose the scope
Set the Scope to control how broadly permissions apply. Organisation-wide roles can reach across the whole organisation; Agency-wide roles are scoped to their agency.
Step 4
Pick permissions
Use the Permissions tab to choose exactly what the role can do — like creating clients, approving timesheets, or managing shifts. The Feature Flags tab controls which pages the role can see.
Step 5
Save the role
Click Create Role to save. A confirmation appears and your new role is immediately available to assign to team members.
